The final two Saturday performances will be done as
"Do-It-Yourself" It's a Wonderful Life, where lucky audience members will get the chance to be a part of the cast. Since it is performed as a "radio
play," actors read their lines from a script, allowing lucky audience members
the chance to perform a beloved character live on stage.
Here's how it will (probably) work:
On nights designated as "Do-It-Yourself" Nights
(probably the final two Saturday performances), audience members will have the
opportunity to drop their name in a jar labeled with a particular role. Whosever's name is selected gets to play that
part in that evening's production! All
of the lines are read from a pre-prepared script, and the actor normally playing
that role will be there to assist our guest performer with anything they may
We feel this is a unique and exciting way to get the
audience involved in a deep, memorable way, and makes the production a shared
experience between the audience and the performers. And with It's
a Wonderful Life being such a legendary, well-known story, it lends itself
perfectly to this format. Who doesn't
have half the lines memorized already?
