Classes focus on learning basic skills in performing and storytelling, while fostering imagination and creativity.
ACT I Classes
- Act it Out – Performance based exploration of a familiar story, brought to life through theatre games and character building. Actors read and memorize their own lines.
- Act it Out: Narrated – Performance based exploration of a familiar story, brought to life through theatre games and character building. The instructor narrates the story.
- Acting Skills – Skill based class that uses exercises, games, and scenes to improve projection, articulation, characterization, and pantomime.
- Theater Craft Workshops – One day sessions focusing on masks, costumes, props or makeup.
- Theater Play – Game based class to foster imagination and improve communication skills.
Classes build on basic skills to enhance individual abilities and promote cooperation and creative ensemble work.
ACT II Classes
- Act it Out – Performance based class where characters and a story are created from a broad theme.
- Acting Skills – Skill based class that uses exercises, games, and scenes to improve movement, accents, characterization, and basic improv.
- Audition Workshop – One day primer on the audition process and techniques for success.
- Improv Studio – Game based class to cultivate quick thinking and teambuilding skills.
- Theater Craft Workshops – One day sessions focusing on masks, costumes, props or makeup.
Classes continue to hone skills, in a cooperative environment with their peers. Additional class offerings include more components of theater arts like writing and tech.
ACT III Classes
- Acting Workshop – One day sessions to focus on specific skills or performance areas.
- Audition Workshop – One day primer on the audition process and techniques for success.
- Improv Studio – Game based class to cultivate quick thinking and teambuilding skills.
- Technical Workshops – Introductions to different technical equipment and design for areas like lights/sound/sets/props.
- Theater Craft Workshops – One day sessions focusing on masks, costumes, props or makeup.
- Writing One Acts – Skill based class to learn about and create short, one act plays (occasionally performed in collection of Spring One Acts).
- Writing Workshops – Skill based classes focused on Fundamentals or Scene Creation.
Classes are geared toward more experienced participants looking to hone specific skills, diversify their knowledge base across different disciplines, and try something new.
ACT IV Classes
- Acting Workshop – One day sessions to focus on specific skills or performance areas like Monologues, Accents & Dialects, Movement, Genres/Styles, Stage Combat, and more.
- Fries With That Improv Group – Performance based group that meets weekly to hone skills and practice improve games for several performance opportunities per year.
- Improv Studio – Game based class to cultivate quick thinking and teambuilding skills.
- Technical Workshops – Introductions to different technical equipment and design for areas like lights/sound/sets/props.
- Theater Craft Workshops – Advanced one day sessions focusing on specific types or styles of masks, costumes, props or makeup.
- Writing One Acts – Skill based class to learn about and create short, one act plays (occasionally performed in collection of Spring One Acts).
- Writing Workshops – Skill based classes focused on Monologues, Dialogue, Character Creation, Scene Building, or Theme.
Participants in Act IV can also participate in many classes offered in Act II or Act III, for participants that age and up.
Classes are geared toward mature participants of all skill levels.
ACT V Classes
- Acting Fundamentals – Skill based class to help adults brush up on skills or learn basic acting and performance tips.
- Improv Night – One day introduction to skills, techniques, and games used with improv.
- Writing Workshops – Skill based classes focused on different components of writing.
Participants Age 18+ can also participate in many classes offered in Act III or Act IV, for participants that age and up.
